Location

Bali is one of the most desirable destinations in Southeast Asia. It blends Hinduism with ancient indigenous Balinese religious practices. Udayana University is located in the southern part of Bali, regarded as the capital of Bali’s tourist area, an ideal base to explore "the island of a thousand gods and temples." The campuses are located in Jimbaran and the capital city Denpasar.

Students must choose one of the following 3 tracks taught in English:

• Bahasa Indonesian Literatures 

TROPICAL ARCHITECTURE 
• Hospitality and Resort Design (5 ECTS credits) 
• Interior Architecture (5 ECTS credits) 
• Southeast Asian Vernacular (5 ECTS credits) 
• Architecture Project (10 ECTS credits) 
• Tropical Home (5 ECTS credits) 
• Bahasa Indonesian Language (5 ECTS credits) 
• Indonesian History and Culture (5 ECTS credits) 

Tracks are also available for students in Medicine/Health Sciences or Environmental/Coastal Science/Remote Sensing.


Courses taught in English

All courses are taught in English. Bahasa Indonesian language courses are included in all program tracks for all levels. I-to-I applicants who are not native English speakers must submit the ISEP Language Proficiency Report.
Note: The host institution ultimately determines your proficiency level and course eligibility.


Housing and Meals

Students will be given a cash stipend for their housing and meals. Assistance will be provided to rent a villa off-campus.

Student Activities

The Bali Institute for Global Renewal organizes exciting cultural excursions that will be available to ISEP students studying at Udayana. Previous activities have included opportunities to: 
• Explore Hindu temples 
• Visit a traditional healer 
• Learn Balinese arts through woodcarving, gamelan music and legong dance 
• Visit a coastal fishing village and experience a traditional fishing boat ride 
• Enjoy a BBQ on the beach with local Balinese
Summer Program
The Bali Institute for Global Renewal offers an in-depth exploration of Bali's indigenous culture where students develop and engage in hands-on projects providing experience in social entrepreneurship with training on how to truly make a difference in local communities.
